Iona Lane is a Leeds based folk singer, songwriter and storyteller. Iona released her debut album 'Hallival' in March 2022 to critical acclaim, reaching number 36 in the Folk Album Charts and airplay across the country including the folk shows on BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio Scotland and BBC Radio Wales. Iona's music draws inspiration from landscapes and the natural world, finding stories in rural locations of mythology, folklore and science and giving them new life in folk music. Accompanied by intricate guitar playing and the hypnotic tones of a shruti box, Iona's voice has been captivating audiences up and down the country.

"A real talent!" - Mark Radcliffe BBCR2 Folk Show

"Iona's lyrics and musical arrangements crackle with wide-eyed curiosity. - Jude Rogers, The Guardian

"Iona feels like a kindred spirit with her gorgeous evocations of landscape and geeky scientific references." - Karine Polwart

"Bound to Rise is the debut album from Leeds based, Yorkshire born artist Chris Brain. Recorded onto analog tape, the album consists of 10 live performances that offer an enthralling meditation on nature, with glimpses of the confessional. Chris Brain renders songs embedded in folk tradition and the pastoral, with a contemporary resonance. Drawing inspiration from the outdoors and song writers such as John Martyn, Nick Drake and Joni Mitchell, Chris explores distinctive fingerpicking patterns and alternate tunings in his sound.

"Recorded straight to tape like the good old days, its an acoustic gem - BBC Radio 6, Tom Robinson
