Fredi Gebhardt is one of the young and upcoming talents of Gypsyswing. With his new album Onset he releases a solo album under his own name for the first time and breaths new life into the scene. You can hear 12 songs composed by him, in which all facets of the acoustic guitar are expressed. In addition to the pieces for solo guitar and those for the classic Gypsyswing instrumentation, consisting of rhythm guitar (Sven Jungbeck) and double bass (Volker Kamp), the popular jazz pianist Jerry Lu can also be heard. Thus, the album is a must not only for loyal Gypsyswing fans, but also for all lovers of guitar and jazz piano. With the new songs, some of them contain much more modern ideas and harmonies than usual in the genre, Fredi Gebhardt goes his own way, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in Gypsyswing.
